At Alexander Hall, we know that a home is more than bricks and mortar — it’s the people around you who help turn a house into a community. That’s why, to mark National Good Neighbour Day 2025, we launched a giveaway inviting people to nominate the neighbours who make life better.
The response was incredible. We received some heartfelt nominations, each one a reminder of the quiet, everyday kindness that builds stronger communities.
There were neighbours who offered late-night help during power cuts, those who brought round tea and sandwiches on moving day, and even one who puts out everyone’s bins on the street — simply because it gives him purpose. Another was praised for always being ready to help, support, and heal (with a brilliant massage!), and for keeping their door open for a cup of tea, coffee or prosecco.
After a random draw, our winning nomination came from someone who described their neighbour as “an absolute angel… always positive and uplifting to be around… a dear friend.” They added: “Sometimes the home you choose ends up bringing more gifts than you could ever imagine.”
This campaign reminded us that good neighbours are the unsung heroes of everyday life. And just like a great mortgage adviser, they’re there when you need them most.
