Alexander Hall, one of Londonâ€™s leading mortgage brokers, has an opportunity for a professional and highly organised Compliance Officer to join our busy City headquarters. The Compliance team is central to Alexander Hallâ€™s strict codes of practice and as such you will work closely with a large team of Mortgage Advisers who search the entire market to find the best mortgage deals and rates for our clients in addition to providing completely independent advice.
Your main responsibility will be to monitor all files to ensure that they are compliant with internal procedures as well as regulations introduced by the Financial Conduct Authority (FCA). You will highlight and correct any potential problems with individual Mortgage Advisers as well as handle any complaints received from our clients regarding advice given. Each case will be investigated to ensure that the Mortgage Adviser acted correctly on the information provided and responded to the client in a professional and accurate manner.
Through our service and innovation we have helped shape the UK mortgage industry and the way it operates. Successful Compliance Officers play a vital role in training the Mortgage Advisers to ensure that Alexander Hall offers the best possible service to our clients in line with correct regulation.
As a Mortgage Administrator you will work as an integral part of the support team at Alexander Hall. You will liaise between the Mortgage Advisers, mortgage lenders, our clients and all other parties involved during the mortgage process, including to ensure that each mortgage application is converted from an application to 'completion' (i.e. when the actual property sale is complete).
On a daily basis you will manage your own portfolio of ongoing applications. You will spend a large amount of time on the telephone speaking with lenders updating on the status of existing applications as well as actively speeding the process along. Clients will contact you directly to get a progress report on their mortgage application. You will ensure they receive exceptional service throughout the process and are kept up-to-date.
Your role will also include responsibility for the administrative elements of the process including keeping the paperwork up to date, sending correspondence and updating internal systems to ensure we have thorough records at all times.
At Alexander Hall we provide full training, support, exclusive products and above all thousands of new sales enquiries each month.
You will provide an independent mortgage advisory service to customers, whilst being able to grow and build a client base to ensure a year-on-year increase in performance and written business. You will search the market to find the most suitable mortgage products, conduct professional client fact finds and assess the clients financial, mortgage and protection needs.

No specific experience is required. Although sales experience is useful, the right attitude is essential.
