David Jackson, Sales Manager

After graduating from the University of Leeds with a BEng Hons in Civil Engineering I decided to combine travelling with working abroad and was lucky enough to gain experience working for a direct marketing company in Sydney. However, when I returned to the UK I decided that neither a career in Civil Engineering or marketing was for me.

Within weeks I had applied to Foxtons, Alexander Hall's sister company after being drawn in by the energetic working environment and opportunity for progression and was thrilled to be offered a job working as a Move Consultant. The role provided me with an invaluable insight into the London property market as well as the world of mortgages which is when I finally decided mortgage broking was going to be the career for me.

After in-depth training and studying for my CeMAP exams which I passed, I became the first person to transfer from Foxtons to Alexander Hall as a qualified Mortgage Broker setting a precedent for other junior advisers to follow.

Although hard work is par for course, the rewards are well worth it and during my time as a broker I was fortunate enough to qualify for numerous incentive trips to Sun City, Iceland and Malta. I also gained membership of the Alexander Hall Rare Club and the title of Associate Director. After excelling as a broker and hitting all of my incentives, I decided it was time to help others and was put in charge of managing the team of brokers based in our South Kensington office. This was a thoroughly rewarding and successful experience which resulted in my promotion to Sales Manager, overseeing brokers in both south and central London.

My latest challenge is managing the successful Alexander Hall Direct department, where the focus is providing a mortgage broker service over the phone. The potential of the department and this section of the business is massive and I'm really looking forward to the next chapter in my career at Alexander Hall!
