Inside Story

Prior to joining Alexander Hall I spent four years (in hindsight misguided) as a self-employed financial adviser. Having registered with a recruitment agency I attended my first interview for a position at Alexander Hall with the Sales Manager of the Mayfair office. I was pleasantly surprised to be asked back for a second interview and was invited to sit a mortgage exam. Having passed this exam I was offered a position at Alexander Hall in November 2003.

With no previous mortgage experience I soon found out how much there was to learn about the industry, but there was always help at hand from both the managers and the experienced brokers -it was never too daunting.

Since I joined the company, I have managed to hit the Rare Club (the highest earners in the company) in my first year, and I am now an Associate Director. I have also qualified for the last two quarterly trips to Reykjavik and Chamonix, have been sailing during Cowes week in the Isle of Wight with one of the lenders, and have enjoyed countless nights out at someone else's expense. As well as regular incentives, I have also accumulated a nice stash of Alexander Hall branded Champagne! There is definitely a great sense of 'work hard /play hard' at Alexander Hall, and if you strike the right balance the rewards are there for the taking.
