Compliance Officer

Compliance is a central role at Alexander Hall, especially following the introduction of new regulation by the Financial Services Authority (FSA) for the mortgage and insurance industries.

As a Compliance Officer you will work closely with the Mortgage Advisers, monitoring all files throughout the process to ensure they are compliant with internal procedures and regulations. You will highlight any potential problems with individual Mortgage Advisers, ensuring they are corrected. You also play a vital role in training to ensure Advisers always offer the best possible service to our clients in line with correct regulation.

Any complaints received from our clients regarding advice given are also handled by the compliance team. You will investigate each case to ensure that the Mortgage Adviser acted correctly on the information provided and respond to the client in a professional, accurate manner.

You must be fully CeMap qualified with experience of working within the mortgage industry. Specific experience of working in compliance is not essential, but a thorough understanding of the industry is strongly preferred. You must have excellent attention to detail and good people skills in order to encourage best practice within the sales team.

alexander hall associates limited is authorised and regulated by the Financial Services Authority for pure protection, residential mortgages and general insurance business. We do not charge a fee for residential mortgage advice; however there is an administration fee for processing each of your standard residential mortgage contracts. The typical administration fee is £499. For impaired credit lending the typical fee is 1% of the mortgage loan. For Buy to Let and Commercial Mortgages a fee of 0.5% of the mortgage loan size applies of which £500 is payable on application with the balance payable on completion.
