Our fees

During our initial meeting we will complete a Mortgage & Remortgage questionnaire so that we can give you the appropriate advice. Once we have made our recommendations to you we will confirm our advice in writing.

Standard residential mortgages

You pay a fee of £499 for each of your mortgage contracts. This is payable at the time of application. In addition we receive commission from the lender.

Alternatively you may pay a fee of 1% and any commission received from the lender will be returned to you after completion. On a mortgage of £250,000 the fee payable on application would be £2,500.

Adverse mortgages (for impaired credit lending)

You pay a fee of 1% for each of your mortgage contracts. This is payable at the time of application. In addition we receive commission from the lender. On a mortgage of £250,000 the fee payable on application would be £2,500.

Alternatively you may pay a fee of 3.5% of the mortgage loan, payable on completion. This can also be added to the loan subject to lender agreement. Any commission received from the lender will be returned to you after completion. On a mortgage of £250,000 the fee payable on completion would be £8,750.

Buy-to-let mortgages

You pay Alexander Hall an administration fee of 0.5% for processing each of your mortgage contracts; £500 payable on application and non-refundable should you choose not to proceed and the balance payable on completion. This fee can be added to the mortgage loan subject to lender agreement.

Refund of fees

You will receive a full refund if we are unable to secure an offer from any lender. If the application does not proceed for any other reason you will not receive a refund.

alexander hall associates limited is authorised and regulated by the Financial Services Authority for pure protection, residential mortgages and general insurance business. We do not charge a fee for residential mortgage advice; however there is an administration fee for processing each of your standard residential mortgage contracts. The typical administration fee is £499. For impaired credit lending the typical fee is 1% of the mortgage loan. For Buy to Let and Commercial Mortgages a fee of 0.5% of the mortgage loan size applies of which £500 is payable on application with the balance payable on completion.
